Falling into your potential
Hello Subscriber First Name,
Marissa here! Hope you all are enjoying the sunshine and time spent outdoors. This Summer season has been exciting for The Falling Company, here are some highlights:
Photo One: Jared Davis and I spent a week in Sointula, BC where we researched a new collaborative, multidisciplinary project through a Creation Residency with BC Movement Arts Society. This project will combine film, movement, and sound. A sneak peak into our 2023-24 season, this work will continue exploration as Artist-in-Residence with Dance Victoria.
Photo Two: Check out our ‘Family Room’ cast (Tamar Tabori, Justin Calvadores, and Shana Wolfe) enjoying some off time from dancing. The company supported the mental and physical health of the production and artistic team by offering a wellness benefit in addition to their artist fees. The benefit could be used in any way that supported healing after our preview performance April 2023. Missed the show? Don’t worry! Family Room will world premiere April 2024. Check back for our season announcement in our September newsletter.
Our mentor team has been busy planning for our upcoming PLUNGE Mentorship Project. The production and movement mentees have been selected and we begin rehearsing next month. You will be able to check out the fruition of this project and the hard work from the mentees in a performance on October 20-21, 2023. Ticket details coming soon!
Thanks for continuing to support the company and the building of our foundation. I am so excited to announce this upcoming season and it’s projects. We have some awesome opportunities and performances coming for you!
