Marissa Wong | Choreography & Set Design

MARISSA WONG is a Chinese-Canadian dance artist who has the privilege to create, play and share on the unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh, Səlílwətaɬ, and xwməθkwəyəm Nations, also named Vancouver, BC. She is the Artistic Director for The Falling Company and her engagement in the Vancouver dance community demonstrates her capability to educate, produce, perform, and host works. Marissa strives to change the systemic structure in dance through facilitating inclusive and sustainable arts spaces. She is invested in continuous learning and her work reflects her observations of the human experience.


 

Justin Calvadores | Performer

Justin Calvadores (they/them) is a second generation Filipinx-canadian, queer freelance contemporary dance artist based on the unceded stolen territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. They grew up on Treaty 1 territory and at the age of 16 were introduced to dance through a Filipino-led hip hop dance community. Since then Justin has fallen in love with the art form and enjoys continually learning about it. Justin is grateful for the privilege of being a working artist. Their perspective and artistry is proudly shaped by the complexities of their identity.

Tamar Zehava Tabori | Performer

Tamar Zehava Tabori (she/her) dances, creates videos, and contributes behind the scenes in the arts. With a BFA from Concordia University in Montreal, her artistic career has taken her across various stages and screens, both nationally and internationally. Tamar is grateful to have been deeply influenced by divergent perspectives on dance and movement, having worked with and for artists and companies such as Petrikor Danse, Kivanç Tatar, Amber Downie-Back, Sophia Mai Wolfe, Scout Heckel, Bradley Eng, Jeanette Kotowich, Company 605, and The Falling Company.

Tamar's career is marked by commissions for performance, production and curation roles, aligning with her desire to share and grow within different creative capacities. Her experimental short films have screened at over 15 festivals worldwide, even finding unconventional temporary homes like building facades and public transit screens. With a personal value of defying norms and embracing movement as a constant theme, she's proud to be a part of F-O-R-M (Festival of Recorded Movement) as its Artistic Director.

Shana Wolfe | Performer

Shana 愛 Wolfe is currently based in so-called Vancouver, working as a freelance artist with local dance companies such as OURO Collective, The Falling Company and Company 605 and with artists such as Cindy Mochizuki, Justin Calvadores, Lisa Mariko Gelley and Anya Saugstad. Through these artists she has been able to perform at Dancing on the Edge, Dance Deck, Guelph Dance Festival, Hold On Let Go, Left of Push, the Edam Performance Series, BC Movement Arts Society and with the Edmonton Opera. 

 

Jamie Bradbury | Sound Composer

Jamie Bradbury is a multidisciplinary artist from Toronto, Canada who now lives and works between St. John's and Burgeo, Newfoundland. He has a bachelor's degree in Painting from OCAD University (2006) and a master's degree from Central Saint Martins in London, UK (2010). Bradbury's works have been exhibited throughout North America and Europe, including at the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art in Wales and the Overture Center for the Arts in Wisconsin. He has received a Canadian Council of the Arts award for Movement and Sound creation. Bradbury's practice encompasses visual arts, music, and independent research-creation

 

Meagan Woods | Costume design

Meagan Woods is an interdisciplinary artist who works in dance, theatre, and costume design. She holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Simon Fraser University and a BFA in Dance from Rutgers University, where she earned the Margery Turner Award for choreography. Meagan is a collaborator for the research project Moving Matter, which explores the agency of non-human material in the design process and was recently featured in the Dance on Camera Festival at Lincoln Center and published in the Theatre, Dance and Performance Training Journal. Jono Kim | Lighting Design

Jonathan, better known as Jono, is a Korean-Canadian lighting designer who currently lives and works on the unceded, stolen and ancestral lands of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh territories (Vancouver, BC). He is a graduate of Simon Fraser University's Theatre Production and Design program. Recent credits: Empire of the Son (Pacific Theatre); Peace Country (rice & beans theatre); How Black Mothers Say I Love You (the frank theatre company); Zahak, The Serpent King (The Biting School); Into the Woods (Studio 58); CHILD-ish (Pacific Theatre); Jade Circle (rice & beans theatre); Red Velvet (Arts Club Theatre Company); Parifam (vAct & Medusa Theatre).


 

Kayleigh Sandomirsky | Production/Stage Manager & Set

Design

Kayleigh Sandomirsky is a stage/production manager, curator, producer, and performer. She works in both theatre and dance, and has toured productions across Canada. Recent Stage Management credits: Sunrise Betties by ITSAZOO Productions, Zahak: The Serpent King by The Biting School, Lip Service 2: Breaking Down Barriers by Pulsive Party, Double Happiness: Detour this Way by Nancy Tam and Robyn Jacobs, and The Array by UpintheAir Theatre. Production Management credits: Peace Country by rice and bean theatre, and PLUNGE Mentorship Program. Touring credits: Black and Rural by Pi Theatre, PIÑA by FakeKnot, and Confluence by Raven Spirit Dance.

 

Agnes Hui | Assistant Stage Manager

Agnes Hui (she/her/佢) is a veteran arts and cultural event planner, as well as an emerging stage manager in town. A settler from Hong Kong, Agnes is currently based in Vancouver, B.C., on the ancestral and unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Agnes is a passionate team player who always enjoys the arts. Recent stage management credits include Residuals (住み‧墨) by Shion Skye Carter at OUTstages Festival 2024 (Victoria) and Expanse Festival 2024 (Edmonton), PLUNGE Mentorship Project by The Falling Company, Discounted Hotpot Centre by Anthony Lee (presented by Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre) and Big Queer Filipino Karaoke Night! ONLINE by Davey Samuel Calderon at rEvolver Festival 2023. She is excited about joining the performing arts community here.

Raïna von Waldenburg 

|Dramaturg

Former full-time faculty at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, adjunct at SFU and UFV, currently teaches workshops in Grotowski-based physical performance. Raïna is a dramaturg, writer, director and performer in Vancouver and the experimental downtown NYC theatre scene. She has been facilitating artists in the development of original performance material for thirty years.


Raïna has worked creatively with EDAM, O.Dela Arts, The Biting School, Fight With A Stick, Kinesis Dance, The Falling Company, Generous Mess. Raïna recently served as assistant-director and dramaturg for Ne.Sans Opera and Dance’sI Capuleti e I Montecchi at Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Italy. Raïna received a Distracted Globe Grant Award and the 2012 New York Innovative Theatre Award nomination for “Outstanding Solo Performance” for her one-woman show at LaMaMa Experimental Theater (NYC). Raïna received her MFA in creative writing from Goddard College, and her BFA in acting from New York University

Kryshan Randel | Script Writer

Kryshan Randel has directed dozens of short films, several of which have toured the genre festival circuit worldwide including Sitges, Fantastic Fest and Fantasia. The short film Glimpse which he also co-wrote, premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival and screened on Movieola and the Sundance Channel. He has co-written and directed many for-hire projects including the Directors Guild of Canada’s Just Watch Us campaign video; and a series of commercials for the smartphone app Shotlister. Kryshan is also shoots and edits promotional and/or behind the scenes content for clients such as Netflix, Disney and Legendary Pictures.

 

Brie-Ana Laboucane | Talkback Facilitator

Brie is a CBT Practitioner and mental health educator with a passion for community, the arts, social justice, and mental health advocacy. Brie graduated in 2013 with a degree in Psychology & Philosophy at Vancouver Island University; completed supervised practicums at the Tillicum Lelum Aboriginal Friendship Centre and the Vancouver Feminist Therapy Collective; has specialized training & certification in Relationship & Intimacy Counselling, Yoga, Butoh Dance, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; is the founder of Cognitive Behavioural Mental Health Strategies (aka CBT with Brie) and facilitates an online mental health program for creatives called Perfectly Human.

Brie has been involved in performance production since 2015, as an artist and performance manager. She and Marissa share a deep passion for creating spaces in which art, social justice, community, and mental health intersect. In her role as talkback facilitator, Brie aims to uphold the Falling Company's vision of decolonizing the arts and empowering individuals by inviting the audience into safely embodied investigation and personal storytelling.
